Tanzia is a Programme Assistant at Options Consultancy Services and provides programme management support to The Girl Generation team and other sexual and reproductive health programmes.
Her academic background is in Economics and Public Policy with a focus on gender and development in Bangladesh and Sub-Saharan Africa. She has worked as a social researcher in Bangladesh in various projects on education for urban working children, sports for development of adolescent girls and gender-based violence. Tanzia has also worked in programme management in the UK NGO sector focusing on women’s health and equality issues such as sexual and reproductive health, mental health, women with HIV, GBV such as FGM, honour killing and sexual violence and BME women’s health.
Tanzia is very enthusiastic about the concepts of power and agency in women’s rights within the South Asian and African regions and in their religious and cultural contexts. She has completed another Master's in International Relations from SOAS focusing on the politics of human rights in the Middle East.
