St Peter’s Life-line

St Peter’s Life-Line is a small, British grass-roots charity, founded by father and daughter, working pro bono with the community of St Peter’s Parish, Kajuki, in the Kenya. St Peter’s Life-line supports the education and feeding of impoverished and orphan children in the four parish schools of 700 children, and offers secondary and tertiary education scholarships. They have initiated and operate a burgeoning micro finance scheme with over 800 women participating, which over time will lift their families out of poverty. St Peter’s Life-line have run an educative and reactive Alternative Rite of Passage programme in the community over the past five years and estimate that they will see the end of FGM within the next two years in this very conservative tribal area.
