Abdifatah Mahad Kasin is the Programme Officer in Somaliland, where he supports the development of the social movement to end FGM. He facilitates The Girl Generation’s in- country capacity building, membership, partner engagement, collecting positive stories of change and resource leveraging work.
Abdifatah has over seven years of experience in community development programmes. He has also served as an independent consultant with the International Youth Alliance on Family Planning in Somaliland, a diaspora research project with USAID, Human Development Index survey from UNDPA, FGM and family planning research from UNICEF implemented by TOSTAN and FASI, FGM baseline survey with Pop Council, qualitative FGM Research with Pop Council, and finally as a volunteer mentor with the Young African Leaders Initiatives (YALI) east Africa programme.
He has worked with the Somaliland Family Health Association (SOFHA) as Program Manager, as well as different programmes within Partner Aid International, MSF Holland, Somaliland Women Development Association (SOWDA) and the Solidarity Hope and Development Organization (SOHDO).
He holds Bachelor of Business Administration from Admas University, Master of Project Planning and Management from Admas, and a Certificate of Research from the University of Bristol in collaboration with OCVP and Transparency Solutions.
